How Does Travel Consulting Work?

Discovery

We’ll jump on a 20-30 minute call or video chat where I will interview you. I’ll inquire about the Who, What, and When of your trip, but more importantly, we’ll discuss How you like to travel and how you want the trip to make you feel.

Destination Research

Time to sit back, relax and let me do all of the heavy lifting. I’ll use my own travel experiences, and dip into the deep well of my travel network to find out everything there is to know about your destination so you don’t miss a thing.

Analysis

I take everything I know about you and how you like to travel and conduct an analysis of the transportation, accommodation and tour options. By the time I’m finished you’ll have a short and curated list to review.

Collaboration

We work together over a 1-2 review sessions to iron out the details. You have control of all the final decisions. If you love an option we can begin the booking process, if I didn’t quite hit the mark, we discuss what’s missing and I try again until we land on something perfect.

Itinerary Delivery

Next, I go to work on the details: perks or VIP opportunities, destination guide, custom packing list, and more. Everything is wrapped in a printable, easy to navigate final itinerary that you can reference any time before, during and after your trip.

Support

Everything you need to know, including times, dates, confirmation numbers, etc. will be in the final itinerary, but that doesn’t mean my job is done. If you opt for the concierge service I will be available any time before and during your trip for questions or concerns.

Absolutely. This is a collaborative process. I use your preferences to guide the recommendations, then refine the plan with your feedback. By the time it reaches you, you’ll have only 2-3 curated options to choose from. The final decision is all yours, and it’ll be an easy one.

A custom itinerary gives you researched recommendations and an organized travel plan that you can book yourself. I’ll even include booking links to make it seamless. Concierge service adds hands-on planning and booking support for travelers who want to delegate more of the process. Additionally, when I do the bookings, I can leverage my agency affiliations to negotiate perks, upgrades and VIP services.

Planning a vacation well takes time. Depending on the length and complexity of your trip it is estimated that a person can spend anywhere from 30 to 80+ hours planning and booking.
